The entire Graphic Design Faculty met on Wednesday May 2nd to go through the 40 portfolios submitted to apply the program. Myself, Liz Throop, Paige Taylor, Jason Snape, Katia Lord and Catherine Normoyle were all present. Also our newest full time faculty member, Jeff Boortz was also present to observe the proceedings. The presentation of your work from your 3200 class was the strongest in my opinion. It's was clean, creative, well crafted and has a great presence among the forty portfolios submitted. I'm very proud. I wish each of you the best in this process and just know that whatever happens in this decision that your goals of becoming an artist, a designer, a creative person should always continue. It should not be diminished not matter what.
Life as an artist will always be full of highs and lows and each brings you new directions and opportunities which is what life is about after all. Always take the high road, the road less traveled and the view and experiences will be more rewarding and breathtaking.
You can pick up your portfolios on Friday from 2-5pm. If you can't get down to campus then you can make arrangements to pick them up once summer classes start in June. I'll be around all summer teaching ART1010!
